Wish you were here winners – The Penny Farthing Hotel, Berkhamsted

Guestline are thrilled to announce the latest ‘Wish you were here’ winner is the Penny Farthing Hotel - part of the Oakman Inns and Restaurants.

The Penny Farthing is named in honour of Berkhamsted’s Thomas Stevens, who in the mid-1800s was the first man to cycle around the world on a pennyfarthing bicycle. Dating back to the 16th-century, the hotel was originally a stopover for pilgrims heading for Ashridge monastery.

With 19 individually designed ensuite rooms the Penny Farthing guarantees a warm and comfortable stay in historic Berkhamsted. With luxury bathrooms, air conditioning, flat screen TVs and all essential tea and coffee making facilities the hotel has everything covered.

With a Mediterranean inspired menu, there are lots of different dishes to try, maybe a 21-day aged steak, supplied by award-winning ethical butcher Aubrey Allen, or some fresh fish grilled to perfection.

The hotel is part of Oakman Inns and Restaurants which boasts awards such as Best Pub Employer of the Year, Best New Pub 2015 and Best Housekeeping Development Strategy amongst others. Oakman Inns opened their first property in December 2007 and now have a number of properties across the country.

Congratulations on such a beautiful and individual property!
